WORK BEGINS ON SKI BACK TRAIL TO THE VILLAGE!

Mammoth Mountain crews start cutting the ski back trail to the Village this week. The trail will be open this winter. Mother Nature will be "on call" because the snow making will not be in place for the 2009/2010 ski season. Very exciting!

HORIZON AIR ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF COMMERCIAL AIR SERVICE TO MAMMOTH/YOSEMITE AIRPORT.

Air service will begin flights Dec. 17,2009 through April 11,2010. Horizon Airlines is affiliated with Alaskan Airlines and for the upcoming ski season they will provide new daily nonstop service from San Jose, Los Angeles and Reno. In addition, the airline added a direct, same plane, one-stop service from Seattle and Portland. Finally we have service for National and International visitors.

Mammoth Lakes General Plan Approval

Approval for the General Plan. This is a step in the right direction. I am hoping for progress towards making Mammoth Lakes a more sustainable community and a great place to live. The town needs to take a balanced approach to having alternative economics for both the residents and guests.
